JoJo Stuart has been appointed as the new Cape Girardeau Regional Airport manager by city manager Ken Haskin, according to a Wednesday, Aug. 21, news release.

This appointment comes after the city announced Cape Girardeau Regional Airport manager Katrina Amos was leaving her position effective Friday, Sept. 13, for a job as deputy town administrator in Collierville, Tennessee.

The release stated Stuart is coming into the position with more than seven years of airport operations management experience and 16 years of serving with the Cape Girardeau Fire Department, most recently as the fire captain and assistant emergency director. He has an Associate of Science degree in Aviation Management/Flight Operations as well as a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Management, according to the release.

Haskin stated in the release that he is pleased to have Stuart's experience and “high character” in the role.

“I know JoJo’s experience and knowledge set will prove to be a tremendous asset to our community and we anticipate the transition to be smooth and seamless,” Haskin stated in the release.

Stuart will “immediately” start work in his new role and work with Amos before she leaves her position Sept. 13, according to the release.

“I am very excited for the opportunity to be part of the growth and continued success of the Airport and all of the possibilities it can open for the City of Cape Girardeau,” Stuart stated in the release.
