Fed up with nastiness, some consider a return to Jimmy Carter's era. Delve into Trump's Scottish insult, fact-checking errors, economic concerns, Kamala Harris's tactics, and the Cardinals' challenging season.

Bring back Jimmy

I am so tired of mean and nasty that I would even consider voting for Jimmy Carter.

Vocabulary class

Since Trump's mother was born in Scotland it’s appropriate to define him with a uniquely Scottish word that fits him perfectly. That word is Cockwomble. The definition is — “a person prone to making outrageously stupid statements and/or inappropriate behavior while generally having a very high opinion of his own wisdom and importance”. You gotta love the Scots!

Fact check

Not to be picayunish, but Princess Diana died in the Pont de l'Alma tunnel in Paris, not on the bridge as reported in the Almanac section last weekend. Makes me wonder what other historical inaccuracies are being reported by the AP.

Currency devaluation?

The big question is will America be forced to go through a currency devaluation before it understands it has to restructure its economy? The country is so overconfident that is highly probable. People think grocery prices are high now they haven’t seen anything yet.

Thinner skin

Kamala Harris has found a way to trigger Trump. She simply turns the tables on him and ridicules him like he ridicules everyone else. He can dish it out but he’s so thin-skinned he simply can’t handle it.

Cardinals season

It's been a frustrating season to be a Cardinals fan. Sure, this team has a better record than the 2023 squad. But with the talent they have, the Redbirds have not performed to the level they are capable. Despite the lackluster performance, a strong September could be enough for a chance to play in October.
