Ronald Parker, 77, a former General Motors employee and avid outdoorsman, passed away on September 9, 2024. He is survived by his wife, Joyce, and their family. Services will be held on September 14.

Ronald Parker, son of Dave Parker and Retta Anthony Lyne, was born Nov. 4, 1946. in Randles and departed his life Monday, Sept. 9, 2024, at his home in Whitewater at the age of 77 years.

He was a former employee at General Motors in St. Louis, a construction worker for Labor Union No. 1104 and later in life worked at Pocahontas Lumber in Jackson for several years. He was a member of Bethlehem General Baptist Church in Crump and an avid duck hunter and fisherman.

On June 20, 1964, he was united in marriage to Joyce Poston in St. Louis. She survives of the home.

Besides his wife, survivors include one son, David (Tara) Parker of Burfordville; sister, Deloris Jackson of Delta; five grandchildren, Brandon (Mackenzie) Parker of Chaffee, Brent Parker of Kansas City, Braden Parker of Mokane and Chelsie Parker and Rileigh Parker, both of Burfordville; two great-grandchildren, Kaden and Beckham; and other relatives and friends.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Gearld Lyne, and one son, Doug Parker.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., with a Masonic service at 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 13, at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Joe Allen and the Rev. Keith Price officiating. Interment will follow in Barks Chapel Cemetery in Whitewater.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bethlehem General Baptist Church of Crump or Barks Chapel of Whitewater.
