Douglas Brent Stanhope, 60, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, June 7, 2024, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 3, 1963, in Paris, Illinois, to Richard and Karen Stanhope. Doug and Jeana Johnson were married May 22, 1993, at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include his wife, Jeana Johnson Stanhope; mother, Karen Stanhope; brother-in-law, Art Ruebenson; sister-in-law, Jill (Shawn) Neumeyer; three nephews; and one niece.

Doug was preceded in death by his father, Richard Stanhope, and sister, Lori Ruebenson.

A celebration of Doug’s life will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, at The Library in downtown Cape Girardeau. Family and friends, please come by to eat, drink and share stories. The family know there will be many memories, as to know Doug was to never forget him.

The family would like to thank its friend, Cathy Thompson, who is graciously hosting at her wonderful venue.
